Products WARNING! A sling is capable of causing serious injury or death to the slinger or to bystanders, as well as damage to property. Never use a sling in a crowded area or where there are obstacles. If you are learning to sling I recommend that you use ammunition that will have a minimal impact on whatever it might hit. If you purchase a sling from me, and use it, you do so at your own risk, and I am not responsible for any accidents that might occur if you do so. Product Categories: Available Products Because slings can be made with many different sizes and styles, it is not practical for me to stock most of the sling variations I can make. I try to have a supply of basic leather slings in stock, but for most braided or woven slings it is more practical to make them as commissions. However, I do try to have a few individual slings available if someone happens to want the size and pattern I've made. Additionally, for orders of large quantities, please contact me about bulk pricing. Sling Length Measurement Unless otherwise stated, the length measurements of all my slings are taken from the center of the pouch to the end of the finger loop (see diagram below). This is the effective length of a sling when it is actually used. Sling Length Basic Sling with Leather Pouch This is an economical but functional sling. The pouch is made of oiled, veg-tanned leather, and is formed in a slightly cupped shape to hold ammunition better. The cords are nylon parachute cord, and are secured to the pouch with waxed nylon thread. Instructions for making a sling like this can be found here. Leather and Linen Sling This is essentially the same as my basic sling, except that the cords are made out of quality domestic linen instead of nylon. These are sold as individual pieces, and the slings pictured are the exact slings you will get. Usually, I cannot make any changes to these slings (i.e. length, colors etc.), so if you see one you like, but would prefer some alterations, you can order a custom sling based on the sling you like. Linen Tut Sling This Egyptian style sling is made of linen rug warp. The cords are 8-strand square braids, and a 9-strand flat braid is used for the finger loop. The pouch is approximately. 2.25 inches wide, and the sling's length is 30" Wool Shepherd's Sling This sling is made of heavy wool yarn in two shades of heathered brown, and features a plain-woven pouch and 4-strand braided cords. It measures 28 inches long. Braided Falconry Equipment In addition to making slings I also braid a range of Falconry leashes, jesses, and jess extenders, including several different sizes and styles. I currently work with Falconry Outfitters in Reno, Nevada, and all my falconry equipment is sold by them and not by me personally. Their website can be found at www.falconryoutfitters.com. If you are interested in commissioning a custom sling or braided project, please Contact me with what you are looking for. Please include as many details as you can (such as style, length, colors, patterns, etc.). I'm also happy to discuss various options if you're not yet sure of what you would like. You can find numerous examples of my past work in my Gallery, and I'm willing to consider new types of projects as well. Once I know what you're looking for, I can give you a price quote. Note: as a Christian, I cannot take commissions for any project that involves elements that I consider to be in conflict with my faith, such as non-Christian religious symbols. My policy on payment for custom work is to give a final price quote before I begin work on the project. If the price is agreeable, I make the project and contact the buyer for payment when it is finished. I ship the project when I receive the payment. I do not take any money before I begin work, and I do not ship prior to payment. Payments, Ordering and Shipping Information For domestic orders of available products, customers can simply use the Paypal shopping cart function to place their orders. All international orders and domestic custom orders must be placed by personal contact through email. For orders with the shopping cart, payment can be made with Paypal or a credit/debit card. For custom orders, I can send a Paypal invoice, which allows for the same types of payments. I also accept personal checks, and United States Postal money orders; all orders for these payments must be placed through email. For international orders, I do not accept any payments except through Paypal. I'm happy to negotiate prices for larger orders, so please contact me personally for orders of larger quantities. I try to process all orders as soon as possible, but custom orders can sometimes take me a couple of weeks to complete. If you are in any way dissatisfied with a product you purchase from me, please contact me about it. I'm willing to offer refunds, repairs, or replacements; whatever is appropriate to your situation. I very much want my customers happy with their purchase, so please let me know if you have any problems with it. For domestic shipping, I typically use USPS First Class Mail, or, if a package is over the weight limit for that, I will usually send it Priority or Parcel Post. The shipping costs depend on the total shipping weight, which is calculated in the shopping cart at checkout. For large orders and custom orders, please contact me and I will send a specific shipping quote. Orders sent to California addresses are also subject to CA sales tax. For international orders, my policy is to send them by USPS Express Mail. I'm willing to work with less expensive shipping options, but I have had packages get lost in the mail before so I DO NOT offer any refunds or replacements for international orders unless I send the order Express Mail. International customers are responsible to pay any customs, duties, taxes, and other fees associated with imports. I will not falsely label an order as a "gift," so be sure to check on import costs of merchandise before you order. I have known import costs to add significantly to the price of even a relatively small purchase. |
